I met Spencer, in a way through my mother, Irish Bridget, who was also in the rooms of AA. I also, went down that very rocky road for awhile. I moved back to NJ 3 years ago to help care for my father and met Spencer in the rooms. He knew my mother well and when he found out that I was her son, we became fast friends. It was not long for me to see the exceptional heart and soul he had within him. His words and actions helped me a great deal. I know this will sound strange but, in his last few days, he had mentioned my mother's name. I believe she was one of many there to greet him. Most likely with a cup of Irish tea in hand for him. Rest serenely Spencer. I'm very grateful to have known you.
