Marion E. McIntyre
January 14, 1931 – July 23, 2025
Marion E. McIntyre, 94, of Bangor, PA, and formerly of Washington, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Born on January 14, 1931, in Oxford, NJ, she was the daughter of the late William Nemeth Sr. and the late Ada (nee Wildrick) Nemeth.
Marion spent most of her life in Washington, NJ, where she and her beloved husband, the late James E. McIntyre Sr., raised their family and built a life grounded in faith, love, and dedication. A devoted mother through and through, Marion found great joy in caring for her home and her children. She embraced motherhood as her greatest calling and lived it with unwavering love and strength.
A woman of deep Christian faith, Marion lived a life of simple joys and quiet beauty. She was known for her talent in crocheting—creating countless afghans and cherished handmade items for those she loved. She found peace in tending to her rose bushes, laughter in her favorite soap operas, and joy in sharing homemade fudge and Peppermint Patty candies with her family.
She is survived by her loving children: son James E. McIntyre Jr. and his wife Sheila; daughters Linda Streisguth and her husband Donn, Patricia Collins and her husband Terry, and Tammy Salas. She is also survived by her brother, William Nemeth; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Marion was predeceased by her husband, James E. McIntyre Sr.; her daughter Doris Romanowitch and husband Joseph; granddaughter Kathleen McIntyre; and her sister, Helen Uhler.
Marion’s legacy is one of warmth, strength, and enduring love. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the memories she created will remain a guiding light for those who knew and loved her.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Knoll-DeVoe Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 142 West Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Following the service, Marion will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Washington Cemetery, 14 Cemetery Hill Road, Washington, NJ.
