Obituary of Michael Richard Stinson
Michael Richard Stinson (1960–2025)
Michael Stinson, 65, went home to be with the Lord and passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2025. A lifelong resident of New Jersey, Michael was born on August 24, 1960. He spent most of his childhood in Bridgewater and later moved to Washington. He will be remembered for his passionate love of the outdoors, and above all, his deep love of his family.
Michael is survived by his loving mother, Gayle Stinson, and his loving wife, Holly Stinson. His legacy lives on through his daughters, Autumn Browning and Michaela Ribeiro, and their growing families, which include sons-in-law Colby Browning and Almir Ribeiro. Michael’s greatest joy was seeing his daughters become mothers and recently welcomed his beloved grandson, Miles Browning. He was also eagerly anticipating the arrival of his soon-to-be and already loved grandson, Elijah Ribeiro. He was so excited to be a grandfather.
Michael is also survived by his nieces and nephews, who held a special place in his heart. He dearly loved his dogs, Tucker and Jax, who never left his side.
When Michael was younger, he learned to horseback ride from his mother and won the New Jersey 4-H State Hunter Championship. He especially liked the high jumps with his pony, Rumpelstiltskin.
Michael worked for M&M Mars for 24 years and later for Warren County until his retirement this past August. He valued the relationships and people he worked with.
Known as “Mikey” or “Stins” by his close friends, Michael’s spirit will be remembered through his love of hunting and his outdoorsmanship. He had an incredible circle of friends. He always looked forward to the laughter and joy he spent with his “cabin crew” during their yearly hunting trips to “Snuffy’s Retreat” and wishes for this tradition to carry on. In recent years, Michael became a proud member of the Hilltop Rod and Gun Club. He truly enjoyed the time he spent there and the friendships he built.
Michael attended The Chapel at Warren Valley with his wife where he found comfort and strength in his faith.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring per Michael’s request.
A cherished father, husband, son, and friend.
