Obituary of Antoinette Chiaramonte

Antoniette Marie Natalie Chiaramonte (née Gennaro), age 100, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Asbury, New Jersey, on December 13, 2025, just eleven days shy of her 101st birthday.

Antoniette was born on December 24, 1924, in New York City to the late Joseph and Grace Gennaro. She grew up in Manhattan and later lived briefly in Wayne, New Jersey, before settling in Jackson Heights, Queens, where she made her home with her beloved husband, Salvatore Chiaramonte. Antoniette and Salvatore were married in 1951 at St. Catherine of Siena Church in New York City and together shared a devoted life, raising their cherished daughter, Loretta.

For her entire working career, Antoniette was employed as a seamstress in New York City and was a proud member of the International Ladies’ Garment Workers’ Union. She loved her work deeply, mastering many skills through it and developing a lifelong passion for crocheting. Given any material, Antoniette could transform it into the most beautiful clothing, a talent admired by all who knew her.

Known for her strong will—and to some, her feisty spirit—Antoniette was never afraid to speak her mind and always let her feelings be known, even in her later years. Her strength, determination, and authenticity left a lasting impression on those around her.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Loretta Krol, and her husband, Longin. In addition to her parents, Joseph and Grace Gennaro, Antoniette was predeceased by her sister, Grace Gennaro.

Antoniette will be laid to rest on December 18, 2025 at 11am, at Musconetcong Valley Cemetery, located on Valley Road in Hampton, New Jersey.
