Obituary of Laurie Ann Stone

Laurie Ann Stone, 48, of Clifton, New Jersey, passed away on December 20, 2025, at St. Joseph’s University Hospital in Paterson, NJ, surrounded by love.

Born on January 4, 1977, in Raritan Township, NJ, Laurie was the cherished daughter of the late Virginia A. (née Kulak) Stone. She graduated from the Midland School in North Branch, NJ, and later was proud to work with Abilities of Northwest Jersey, Inc. in Washington, NJ. Laurie lived in Washington for most of her life, where she was warmly embraced by the community.

Laurie found joy in life’s simplest and most meaningful moments. She loved making arts and crafts—especially bracelets—playing mahjong on her tablet, and brightening the days of others with her infectious smile. Laurie had a natural gift for friendship; she never hesitated to introduce herself, offer kindness, and share laughter. Her gentle heart and joyful spirit left an unforgettable mark on everyone blessed to know her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Virginia A. Stone; her grandfather, Henry C. Kulak; and her uncle, Henry J. Kulak.

Laurie will always be remembered with love by her cousins, Selina Pagan, Tiesha Giovannone, Joseph Kulak, Joshua Kulak, and Nakiesha Donnelly, along with their families. The family is deeply grateful to the Borough of Washington community for the friendship, care, and acceptance shown to Laurie throughout her years in town. Your kindness meant everything to her—and to them.

Laurie’s life was defined by love, joy, and a pure, radiant spirit. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
