Obituary of Rich Schneider

 

Rich Schneider, age 61, of Union Twp, NJ passed peacefullyWednesday, September 11, 2019 after spending his final days surrounded by his loved ones. Rich was born February 25, 1958 in Lansdale, PA. He is the son of the late Edwin Wilhelm and Joan (Mitchell) Schneider.   

Rich grew up in Bucks County PA and played center for the Central Bucks West High School football team. He graduated from Central Bucks West in 1976 and started a forty-one yearcareer with Amtrak, retiring in 2018.  He resided in Hunterdon County for the last 32 years.

He was a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan.   He loved to hunt, fish and camp but, above all, he loved his family.  He was incredibly proud of his children and was always there for them.  He was very active in youth sports and was currently coaching for the Somerville – Branchburg United Youth Football program7th & 8th grade team. He is remembered by many as their youth sports coach, their kid’s mentor or that super supportive parent that everyone loved having around. 

Rich always stepped up to the plate when there was a need andwas a past member of the Franklin Township Office of Emergency Management, North Hunterdon Community Athletics Director and Assistant Cub Scout Master of Pack 108.

Surviving is his beloved wife Marilynn; son and daughter, Dustin and Kristin; sister, Barbara Collopy and her husband Glenn; brother, Gerry and wife Sharon; sister in law Sheila Small and husband George: nephews, Gregory, Robert and Bright; niece, Justine.

Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Sunday September 15, 2019 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Martin Funeral Home 1761 State Route 31, Clinton NJ 08809. A luncheon will be held at the Mountain View Chalet (Route 173 in Pattenburg, NJ) following the viewing from 12:30-2:30. All are welcome. Cremation will be held privately.
