Obituary of Jennie Elizabeth Snyder
On March 06, 2017, Jennie Elizabeth Snyder (nee: Giovonina Juinta) passed after a brief illness surrounded by her family in Glen Burnie, MD. Jennie was born on April 6, 1919 in Port Murray, NJ to the predeceased Angelo and Antonina (Genovese) Juinta.
Jennie was the wife of the late Arnold W. Snyder for 50 years prior to Mr. Snyder’s passing in 2006. After they both retired, Jennie and Arnold moved to Glen Burnie, MD, where they became members of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the church’s Seniors Club.
As a lifelong sewing and knitting enthusiast she worked as a sewer and manager for over 30 years at ELCO Hemming in Washington, NJ. Her talents extended into retirement as she became active in the Pine Wood Knitting Club in Glen Burnie. Her passion for gardening was visually apparent in her many colorful floral gardens, an array of seasonal berry patches and creative landscape designs. Her Italian heritage emanated through her cooking skills as Lasagna was the center piece of family gatherings. Mom/Nana will be forever missed by all whose life she touched.
Jennie was a lifelong member of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Washington, NJ where she was an active member of the Altar Rosary Society, the St. Josephs Social Club and the Choir. Singing was a gift that she shared throughout life and her vocal talents were a treasure for all to enjoy. She was also a member of the Warren Hills Friendship Club, a Charter Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary of Washington, NJ and a member of the Warren Haven Auxiliary of Oxford, NJ.
She is survived by her sister Francis (Wadnick) of Washington, New Jersey, and Jennie’s children: Tom (Marcia) Quinn, Myrtle Beach.SC, Kathy Malaska, Glen Burnie, MD, Dan (Christy) Quinn, Cobleskill, NY. Step children Carl (Barbara) Snyder, Cavendish, VT and Neil (Charlotte) Snyder. Cavendish, VT and Raleigh, NC. Jennie had twelve Grand-Children Thomas M. (Betsy) Quinn,, Michael Malaska, Matthew (Dawn) Malaska, ,Lisa Malaska Moore, Matthew Quinn, Mark Quinn, Abi Quinn, Kenan Quinn, Steve Snyder, David Snyder, Timothy Snyder, Laurel Snyder Harrison. She also had twelve Great Grand-Children. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by three sisters and one brother: Katherine (Muscatell), Sara (Nagy), Etta (Kovacs) and Anthony (Tony) Juinta .
Services are being held at DeVoe Funeral Home, 136 West Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ on Saturday March 11th.th Viewing at 10:00 am followed by services at 11:00am.
