Obituary of Dorothy R Burd

Dorothy R Burd Washington, N.J. Dorothy R. Burd, 80, of Washington, NJ passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on January 12, 2016. Dorothy was born on June 29, 1935 in Oxford, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Julia Klimko. Her husband, Robert W. Burd, passed away on December 6, 1991. Dorothy raised four children and worked at G.C. Murphy Co. in Washington. Later in life, she was part of the cafeteria staff at Warren Hills Regional High School. She enjoyed camping, cooking, baking, knitting, and most importantly taking care of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her greatest joy above all was her family. Dorothy was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary Society and the Washington Historical Society. She is survived by her four children, JoAnn and her husband Don Beisel, Robert Jr. and his wife Darlene Burd, Karen Boyle, Michael and his wife Nancy Burd, seven grandchildren; Kristen and her husband Joshua Fink, Courtney Beisel and her fiance Michael Handel, Lauren, Megan and Kathryn Boyle, Kristofer and Brandon Burd, two great grandsons Gavin and Liam Fink and soon to be great granddaughter Olivia Lettenberger. She is also survived by brother John and his wife Virginia Klimko, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Mary Oram and Helen Beers and brothers Joseph and Michael Klimko. In Gavin's words, " I will always remember Nana with a happy heart" and so will all of us.
