Raymond A Ayres of Washington, NJ died Sunday, February 4, 2007 in Washington, NJ at the age of 79. Born June 13, 1927 in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of Arthur J. and Erma (Matthews) Ayres. He was an engineer, employed by Hercles Cement Co. Military: Served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Memberships: First Presbyterian Church, Washington, NJ; NJ Society of Professional Engineers; NJ Chapter A.C.I.; Marine Corp League Detachment #894 (Warren); Delivered meals on Wheels; Hospice Volunteer; and was a Friendly Visitor. Survivors: Son: Ray Ayres Jr. & wife Eileen Jensen Beach, FL Daughter: Barbara Smyth & husband Don Sneads Ferry, NC Daughter: Nancy Ayres Havelock, NC 8 Grandchildren 3 Great Grandchildren ** Predeceased by his wife Barbara Eckert in 1983, and by his wife Betty Davidson in 1997. Services: Friends may call Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am at DeVoe Funeral Service Inc., 136 West Washington Ave, Washington Interment will be Wednesday in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
