Obituary of Jacob Smith

Jacob Albert Smith of Phillipsburg, NJ passed away on April 5, 2015 at the Care Center of Lopatcong in Phillipsburg, NJ. He was born on January 13, 1931 in Croton, NJ to William and Mary Ellen smith. He was a farmer for most of his life but also worked at oil plants and most recently as a custodian for East Amwell school district. He was a self taught guitar player although he could not read music. He was an avid collector of model planes and horseshoes. He was of Methodist faith. Jacob is survived by his sons Perry Smith of Oxford, NJ and Jacob Smith Jr. of Trenton, NJ. He is survived by sisters Bessie Biel of High Bridge, NJ, Ann of New York State, Edith Thatcher of High Bridge, NJ, Hazel Novak of Trenton, NJ and Betty Smith of Flemington, NJ. He is predeceased by he wife Helen Arlene Lambert Smith. He is also predeceased by brothers William, Georger, Pete, and Charles and sisters Mary, Kate, Doris, Marie, and Lucy.
