Obituary of John Kiley
John F. Kiley Sr., 81 of Hampton NJ died Thursday May 20, 2010 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township NJ.
He was born in Scranton Pa, January 25, 1929. He was the son of the late William and Emma KIley Sr.
John was the owned and operated Kileys Auto Body in Hampton NJ from 1960-1990. Early in his life he delivered milk for Riddles Dairy. He laos worked at Celenise in Belvidere NJ and For Hampton Coal & Lumber.
He was life member of over 40 years with the Hampton Fire Company where he served as the departments Chief from 1974-1976. He served on the Hampton Borough Council from 1978-1986 and served many years on the Hampton Planning Board. John was also the 1st Captain for Hampton Emergency Squad.
John owned and built triple X stock cars in the. He was also co-owner and sponser of the #26 driven by Billy Winters. At the Flemington Raceway.
His loving wife the former Virginia Ganley preceded him in death in May of 2008.
Surviving are 5 sons, John Jr, of Hampton NJ, George of Buchanan Ga, James of Hampton NJ, William of Hampton NJ and Edward of Washington Township NJ, 5 daughters, Jean Velard of Nampa ID, Judy Smith of Lebanon Twp NJ, Alice Bullock of Glen Gardner NJ, Arlene Kiley of Flemington NJ, and Ann Marie Felter of Hampton NJ. 19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
John was predeased by two brothers Edward and William and 5 sisters, Marie, June, Mildred, Emma and Libby.
Visitation will be Tuesday May 25 from 4-7 PM in the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave Washington NJ. Firemans Services will be at 6:45 PM followed by a prayer service at 7pm conducted by the Rev. Irv Angstadt. Online condolences may be expressed at www.devoefuneral.com
