Obituary of Michael Walsh
Michael T. Walsh Jr., 90 formerly of Washington, New Jersey passed away on February 6, 2011 in Kettering, Ohio.
Michael was born on May 26, 1920 in Newark, NJ. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael and Isabelle (neeLockhart) Walsh.
He was a graduate of Washington High School, Washington, NJ and Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ with a Bachelors of Science.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a Sergeant and was a POW. He was a member of the VFW and served as commander for the Phillipsburg VFW Post 9308.
Michael was a member of the Senior Center of Phillipsburg, NJ where he called Bingo. He was an avid hunter and was a member of the Grouse Ridge Hunting Club.
He is predeceased by his wife, Mary. He is survived by 2 daughters; Cassandra and husband John Paul of Kettering, OH, Michelle Petrick of Nazareth, PA, a brother; James Walsh of Vancouver, Washington, a sister; Jean Packard of Easton, PA, 3 grandchildren; Matthew Petrick, Tracy PaulDowns, and Mark Petrick, 4 great-grandchildren, and a step-daughter; Kathy and husband Tom Tharp of Bethlehem, PA. He is also predeceased by 2 sisters; Marie Willever, and Catherine Bowman.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 11, 2011 from 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. at DeVoe Funeral Servive, Inc., 136 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. A service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at Brigadier General William C.
