Obituary of Helene Bodine
Helene E. Bodine nee-Graham, 92, a longtime resident of Warren County, NJ and a graduate of Washington High School Class of 1934, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2009 at Warren Hospital, Phillipsburg.
Helene was born on December 14, 1916 in Phillipsburg NJ, a daughter of the late David J. and the late Flora (nee, Hoff) Graham.
Helene was an avid book reader, crossword puzzle solver and scrabble and pinochle. She was an outstanding woman, who raised 4 young children while working, after the accidental death of her husband Marvin F. Bodine. She was a member of the Moose Lodge 512, Washington NJ and attended the Asbury Methodist Church. She retired from Consumer Research of Washington, NJ in 1979.
Helene is survived by one sister Dorothy E. Johncock of Hastings, MI; two daughters Helene D. Hart of Hackettstown, NJ and Dorothy M. Bodine of Washington, NJ; two sons, Franklyn Duane of Ontario, NY and Daniel G. of Coal City IL. Helene is also survived by eight grandsons and one granddaughter, Jacquelyn M. Rosario and three great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she is predeceased by her two brothers; David Graham and Gerald Carpenter and one sister Beverly Benka.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 7:00-9:00 pm at DeVoe Funeral Service, Inc., 136 W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ. Services will be Tuesday at the funeral home at 11:00 am.
