Obituary of Michael J Dante

Michael J. Dante, 48, of Washington, NJ passed away on November 17, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Fountain Hill, PA. 

Michael was born to Joseph and Marjorie (Rathyen) Dante in Somerville, NJ on September 30, 1970. 

He graduated from Warren Hills High School in 1989 and served in the US Navy.  Michael was a steam Fitter for the local Union 475 in Newark before becoming disabled. 

Michael loved hunting and fishing.  He was an avid bowler and golfer.  He was a wonderful, involved father.  He was a former scout leader in Washington.  He coached his daughter in softball and coached the Washington Redskins.  He umpired for the Washington Softball League and refereed for the recreational and high school football.   He was a former member of the Mansfield Fire Company.  Michael was of the Catholic Faith and attended St. Joseph’s in Washington, NJ and also St. Theodore’s in Port Murray, NJ.

Surviving is his loving wife of twenty-two years Stacey (Peterson) Dante; his parents; sons Austin of Harrisburg, PA, Aaron and Anthony both of Washington, NJ; daughter Alyssandra of Washington; brothers Christopher of Washington, NJ, Joseph and his wife Victoria of Grand Island, NY; brother-in-law Shawn and his wife Melanie Peterson; sister Jennifer Dante of Jim Thorpe, PA.

Viewing will be held on Monday November 26, 2018 from 5-8pm at the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882.  Burial to be private at the Brigadier General Doyle Cemetery in Arneytown, NJ.
