To those of you who red my signing of the guest book, I made a mistake. It was not the Lord's prayer. Instead it was ""Now I lay me down to sleep"". This was the prayer that we all learned when we were children.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."" (II Timothy 4:7) I am sure that Cousin Dessie said those words when she answered the call last Wednesday. We all shall surely miss her. Yes, it really was good to see her at our last Buckley Family Reunion. As I reflected on some of my memories and what comes to mind. As a little girl going to visit Grandpa [Sam] and Grandma[Dora], Dessie was always there. I remembered her long fingernails and how beautifully polished they were. Little girls like to look up to big girls and that I did. I will forever cherish the memories of our Cousin Dessie through the years in my diary of memories. Cousin Dessie is spending Christmas with Jesus this year as well as the loved ones that have gone on before. Sleep on Cousin Dessie and take your rest. We all love you, but God love you best. Cousin Theodora

To God be the glory for sharing such a special person with our family! I will always cherish our times together when cousin Dessie, TJ and Tom lived in Jackson around the corner from our family and the summers that mama (Maranda)Gloria and I spent with the family in Newark, NJ. I will especially miss the weekday calls we shared of late and hearing her say, ""I know the Lord will make a way..."" And now he has made a way for her to spend eternity with all of our other loved ones and with Him. Thank you Bobby for your loving care of our Cousin and your aunt Dessie during the pass few years.

We all know that Dessie got tired and weary and had to go home. There will be peace in the valley for her now. I will always cherish the few visits that I had in her home and the many phone calls. She did at one time enjoy the pecans that I would send. Dessie was always so gracious to call and thank you for the gift, when you would remember her in your giving. Mama taught us when we learned the Lord's Prayer to end with ""Bless Dessie Rea and all of my relatives and friends and make me a good girl. Amen

We are so thankful to have known Dessie. Her smile is a memory that will not soon fade. We were so glad to have her join us for the family reunion this year, and one day we know we will all be reunited again.

Dessie was more than a cousin. We are double first cousins who share the product of two brothers as fathers and two sisters as mothers. Therefore, we are as close to sisters as possible with out being sisters. Our lives were entertwined from childhood until now. She will be sorely missed in every way, especially the weekly phone calls. You are in God's house with members who have preceded you. Love and enjoy the pain free suffering as you now walk with God. I am Cousin Sandra, from Jackson, MS. Cousin Dessie Ree will be missed dearly. Even though people live far away; but as long as we know where they are, we're okay. When we know they're gone, it makes a difference!!! We also know the LORD makes no mistakes.
