Obituary of Eugene Hendershot

Eugene Hendershot 79 of Franklin Twp NJ, died at his home on Thursday May 24, 2018

He was born in Bridgewater NJ March 8, 1939. He was the son of the late Benjamin and Beulah Hartrum Hendershot.

Gene was a retired from the Hagedorn Geriatric Center in Glen Gardner.

He loved to hunt, fish and watching NASCAR. He was of the Methodist faith.

His wife Faye (Middaugh) Hendershot preceded him in death in 1996.

Surviving is his son Eugene Jr of Easton PA, three daughters; Terry Mehall of Washington NJ, Irene Hendershot of Washington NJ and Gladys Hendershot of Hampton NJ, two sisters, Sevilla Willis and Ruth Evans of Bangor, 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters; Ben Hendershot, Dorothy Opdyk, John Hendershot, Herry Hendershot, Virgiva Hanby, Helen Russo, Anna Willis, Eleanor Walker.

Visitation will be Thursday May 31 from 1-2PM followed by a Funeral Service at 2PM in the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave Washington NJ 07882. Interment to follow in the Union Cemetery Hackettstown NJ.

The family requests donation be made to the family in lieu of flowers in care of the funeral home
