Obituary of Maria Turner

Maria Estelle Appleby-Turner 63 of Washington NJ, died at her home on May 29th, 2010. She was born in Philipsburg NJ October 27, 1946 a daughter of the late Henry and Rose Rossi Yale. She was raised in New Village NJ and graduated from Washington High School in 1964. She had worked for Midlantic Bank in Washington NJ before being appointed Township Clerk for Mansfield Twp NJ. She also held the title of Registrar of Vital Statistics. She retired after 30 years of service in 2004. After retiring from Mansfield Twp., she worked for Washington Twp., Morris County. She was Treasurer for the Warren County Municipal Clerk's Association. Maria was a past member of the Mansfield Twp Fire Company Ladies Auxillary where she was one of the founding members. Maria was a loving and caring mother, and grandmother who was loved by all who knew her and will be missed, She enjoyed camping, antiques, gardening and especially spending time with her granddaughters whom loved her dearly. She is survived by her husband of 9 years Kevin Turner, a son Harry "Buzzy" Appleby Jr and his wife Gina of Washington NJ, granddaughters Jacki, Alyssa and Kristen of Washington NJ, Cassi Bertoline of Stroudsburg PA, and Charla Bertoline of Boonton NJ; stepchildren Brenda and Patrick, two sisters Betty Rush of Port Murray, and Beverly Rush and her husband Jim of Gilbert AZ, three brothers Henry Yale of Phillipsburg NJ, David Yale of Stewartsville NJ and Robert Yale and wife Jan of Phillipsburg NJ and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister-in-law Carol Yale. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4:00 -7:00 pm in the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave, Washington NJ followed by a funeral service at 7:00 pm. Graveside Services will be held on Friday at 11am in the Stewartsville Lutheran Cemetery, Stewartsville NJ.
