Obituary of Frank Zanks

Frank Pierre Zanks, 98, of Hampton, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Country Arc Care Center, Pittstown, NJ. Frank was born on November 3, 1913 in Brooklyn , NY. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank C. and Veronica ( nee Bender) Zanks. He was a graduate of Hampton High School, Hampton, NJ. Frank served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. Frank was a charter and exempt member of the Hampton Emergency Squad, Hampton, NJ. He was a parshioner of St. Ann's Catholic Church where he was an alter boy and usher for over 50 years. Frank worked as a butcher in the New Jersey Hospital for Chest Disease, Glen Gardner, NJ for 24 years. He is predeceased by his loving wife Margaret Mooney Zanks in 1997. He is survived by his son, Francis Zanks of Hampton, NJ. He is predeceased by his daughter, Mary and five brothers and sisters. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the DeVoe Funeral Service, Inc., 136 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m.on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 6 Church Street, Hampton, NJ 08827. A burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
