Obituary of Richard J Laferriere

Richard J. Laferriere, 64, of Washington, NJ passed away on November 14, 2015 at the Hunterdon Medical Center. Richard was born in Lowell, MA to the late Jean Paul and Rita (Lemery) Laferriere on March 7, 1951. He graduated from Warren Hills Regional High School in 1970 and earned a degree in music (Classical Guitar) from the County College of Morris. He was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Washington, NJ until his retirement in 2012. Richard served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was an exceptional musician and avid reader. Richard is survived by his wife of 25 ½ years Betsy (Wismer) and a son Tristan both of Washington. He is also survived by a sister Lurena Laferriere of Texas. A visitation will be held on Friday November 20, 2015 from 5:00-7:30 pm at the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. A memorial service will follow at 7:30 pm.
