Obituary of William "Bill" Howey

William “Bill” Thomas Howey, 76, of Georgetown, TN, formerly of Washington, NJ died on Sunday, September 24th,  2017 in Chattanooga, TN.

Born in Easton, PA, on July 26th, 1941, Bill was the son of the late Richard W. and Virginia Mae Daniels Howey.  He was also the step son of the late Pearl Emma Howey.

Before retiring, Bill was employed at Oxford Textile, Inc. for over 32 years. Bill also enjoyed working part time as a Bartender.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing and camping.  He loved watching football and rooting for his favorite teams the NY Giants and Penn State Nittany Lions.  He was also a member of the VFW.  He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy V. (Snyder) Howey.  In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by four sons, John Van Syckle and his wife Jenn, John Richard Howey, Michael Keith Howey and his wife Jenn, and Bryan Scott Howey; and a daughter, Alyssa Mae Howey.  He is also survived by two brothers, Richard E. Howey and his wife Dotti and Gene E. Howey and his wife Sandy; and two sisters, Susan Kay Shotko and her husband Bob and Donna Mae Bysher and her husband Bruce; six step brothers and one step sister, twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild.  Bill was predeceased by his brothers, Donald W. Howey, Barry Lee Howey and a sister Nancy Jane Weidner.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 30th from 10AM-Noon with a service to follow at Noon in the DeVoe Funeral Service, 136 West Washington Ave, Washington, NJ 07882. Interment to follow in the New Cedar Ridge Cemetery, Blairstown, NJ.
