Vernon Golini

Obituary of Vernon D Golini

Vernon Dale Golini, 77, of New Village, NJ, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on March 26, 2019. He was born in Phillipsburg, NJ on October 30, 1941. He was the son of the late Antonio and Theresa (Paini) Golini, also of New Village.

Vernon was a graduate of the Washington High School class of 1960. He attended Churchman Business School in Easton, PA. He spent a long career in the telephone industry, retiring in 1997 from Sprint.

He was a long-time member of the New Village Volunteer Fire Company. Later in life, he fulfilled his dream of owning a Corvette and became a member of the Easton Area Corvette Club, where he made a lot of friends. He enjoyed working outdoors and was particularly proud of the tomatoes which came out of his garden. He also loved making a welcoming environment for all kinds of local birds, putting out multiple types of bird food, bird houses, a birth bath, and sugar water feeders for the hummingbirds; those were his favorite birds.

After retirement, he and Diana enjoyed traveling to visit family and explore new places, like on the Hawaiian cruise they took to celebrate their 50th anniversary. One of his favorite times of year was Christmas when all of the family came in from around the country and gathered together in their home.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Diana (Cressman) Golini; his daughter, Christina (Golini) Jessee and her husband, Doug, of Bloomington, IN and his son, Anthony Golini and his wife, Kristin (Duncan), of Mendon, MA; grandchildren, Jessee Lovegood of CA, Aryel Richter and husband, Stephen, of IN, Niccy Jessee of IN, Anthony, Emily, and Madelyn Golini, all of MA. The family is also blessed with the love of many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Vernon will be greatly missed by all.

At his request, there will be no services but the family is planning a celebration of his life later this year with all his friends welcome.

Gifts in his memory may be made to Franklin Township Fire & EMS at P.O. Box 43, Broadway, NJ 08808; or Common Sense for Animals at P.O. Box 589, Broadway, NJ 08808.
