Uncle Brett,
I will not forget you or the memories that I have with you. You were a very important aspect in my childhood and a strong male figure in my life. You took care of me when I was little, ensuring that I had the safest but most ENJOYABLE times (especially at all the races). It seems like yesterday you and "Let" were building the go-karts piece by piece. I will never forget that. I found comfort in thinking that the real reason god called you home so soon was because he was in desperate need of a race cart and knew just the right person for the job!!! xoxox

I posted this story on my Facebook too:
Just read that a childhood friend of mine passed away yesterday, Brett Cole from Oxford NJ. Brett was one of my friends who played "sandlot" baseball with us around town. Since we lived on Dutch Hill and there was no baseball field or park, we used to travel around making our own baseball fields (in the fields next to my house, in the apple orchard in the back of the Brand's house, and one block from Brett's house in the field, now located next to Gero's home on Henry Street. We all would go together and cut down the grass into a diamond and then picked the teams. Brett was a lefty hitter and he had a swooping upper-cut swing. He was the local home-run king of our pickup league. We had a lot of fun back then. I haven't seen Brett in over 40 years. RIP my old friend. We will always be the boys of summer.

Brett was my uncle by marriage, and I had not known him long or had not been very close to him .However long I have known him I know tha the was a good, kind, and caring man. When he had come over on Thanksgiving, when I was lived with Robbie, mom, and Shane on West Warren St.One of the things I was and am thankful for is the time I had to get to know my uncle Brett, who also had a great sense of humor that will be missed,I will always him in my heart.
