Obituary of John Bowman
John Bowman of Moravian Hall Square, Nazareth, PA formerly of Washington Township, NJ died Thursday, January 3, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill, PA at the age of 88. Born September 2, 1919 in Washington, NJ, he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Vanover) Bowman. He was the husband of the late Eleanor nee-Schamp Bowman who died in 1995, they were married for 52 years. He was active in many organizations having served on boards of education, the township committee and zoning board of adjustment including terms as president and mayor. He was the school Administrator at Warren Hills Regional for 13 years retiring in 1985 prior to that he was Plant Engineer, employed by Belvidere Celanese Coating Co., Belvidere, NJ form 26 years
Military: He served as an officer during World War II in the Air Force. Memberships: He was a member of the Mansfield Lodge F & AM of Mansfield, NJ, the Valley of Trenton Scottish Rite Consistory Former member of the Washington Kiwanis and former president from 1977-1978 of Washington, NJ He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Washington where he was an elder and former property maintenance chairman. Education: Graduate of Washington High School, Washington, NJ, graduate of Lafayette University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and was a Lic. Professional Engineer he also attended Kean College of Elizabeth, NJ
Survivors: Daughter: Katherine And Husband Michael Craig Easton, PA Son: Terrence And Wife Mary Bowman Summerfield, NC Daughter: Debra And Husband Milton Bowman-Cohen Colorado Springs, CO 4 Grandchildren: Andrew, Cristin, Elizabeth And Joseph
Services: A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, Jan 10th, at the First Presbyterian Church, 40 East Church Street, Washington, NJ under the direction of DeVoe Funeral Services, Inc. Internment will follow at the Musconetcong Valley Cemetery, Hampton, NJ Interment will be private at H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg

He and Eleanor were a great team, and it's good to know that they are together again.
