Obituary of Lee Stevens

Lee Theodore Stevens, age 70, of Conover went home to our Lord and Savior after a long courageous battle with cancer on Friday, May 18, 2012 at Palliative Care Center and Hospice of Catawba Valley in Newton. Lee was born on July 27, 1941 in Washington, NJ. He was the son of the late Theodore and Pearl Lozier Stevens. Lee served his country in the US Army both in Korea and Vietnam from 1963- 1966. He retired in 1996 from NJ Bell after 30 years of service. In 2000, he moved from his hometown of Washington, NJ to Conover, NC with his wife and daughter Shannon where he enjoyed his days fishing, bowling, listening to bluegrass and being with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years: Mollie Gannon Stevens of the home. He is also survived by a daughter, Shannon Vodek and husband Michael of Taylorsville, two sons, Lee Andrew Stevens of Washington, NJ, Keith Allen Stevens, Sr. and wife Robin of Bangor, PA, a sister, Carolyn Serridge of Duneden, FL eight grandchildren, Robbie, Zach, Ashton, Ashley, Stephanie, Crystal, Keith, Jr. and Debbie, and five great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death in 2011 by his daughter, Chris "Tina" Stevens. A memorial service to celebrate Lee's life will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 6:00 PM in the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave Washington NJ 07882.
