Obituary of Jozef Wachelka
Jozef Wachelka, of Oxford, NJ, passed away in Warren Haven Nursing Home on February 24, 2015. Jozef was a resident of Oxford, NJ since 1952.
Jozef was born September 10, 1929 in Aleksandria, Poland, he was the son of the late Jozef and Teofila (Wieczorek) Wachelka. The entire family arrived in New York at Ellis Island on September 21, 1951 to begin a new life. They settled in Oxford, NJ.
Jozef went to work for Oxwall Tool Co. until the doors closed behind him after thirty six years. He then worked eight years as a maintenance man for Warren Haven before retiring. Jozef was married to the former Ann D. Miller of Easton, PA.
Jozef is survived by his daughter Kim Wachelka of Oxford, NJ.; sisters, Zenobia Vasko of Phillipsburg, NJ, Teofila Williams of Washington, NJ, Krystyna (Christina)Billger of Belvidere, NJ, Leokadia Lucas of White Township; brothers, Zygmunt (Zygmund) Wachelka of Venice, FL, Bronislaw (Bruce) Wachelka of Harmony, NJ.; and four grandchildren, Dawn Fariello of Bronxville, NJ, Joseph Hunter Konkoly of Hampton, VA, Hannah Blaney of Oxford, NJ and Keely Blaney of Oxford, NJ.
He was preceded in death by a son Jozef Wachelka, III.; sisters Marta Blyskal and Kazimiera Polanczyk ; a brother Antoni Wachelka; and a granddaughter Alexandria Konkoly.
A memorial service will be held on April 2, 2015 at 10:00 am at the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. Cremation was held at the H.G. Smith Crematory in Stroudsburg, PA.
