Obituary of Donald Martin
Donald W. Martin 80 of White Twp NJ died at his home on Saturday November 24, 2007. He was born in White Twp NJ, November 24, 1927. He was the son of the late Earl and Gladys Barrett Martin. Mr. Martin was a School bus contractor, with routes that served Oxford, Mansfield, Warren Hills, St Phillip and James and the former Phillipsburg Catholic Schools. He and his wife Helen were married 55 years on Thanksgiving Day November 22nd. Donald died (November 24) on his birthday. He loved fishing, hunting and gardening. He was an avid New York Yankee fan. He was an avid racing fan, including NASCAR, INDY CAR and Motorcycle. He loved animals and had a tender heart towards everyone.
Military: He served in the US Army. Memberships: For the past 6 years Donald and his wife attended the Bethel Bible Church at Mount Zion in Martins Creek PA, where he loved Bible Study.
Survivors: Helen Pfaff Martin, his wife of 55 years survives him. In addition, he is survived by two daughters, Kathy Opdycke and her husband Mark of Tatamy and Sandy Fritz and her husband Scott of Walnutport PA, two brothers Carl and Ken both of Oxford NJ, sister, Alice Martin of Oxford NJ, 4 grandchildren, Josh, Kyleen, Larissa and Kyle, and 5 great grandchildren. A sister Grace McDermott predeceases him.
Services: Funeral Services will be celebrated at 11 am on Tuesday November 27, 2007 in the DeVoe Funeral Services, Inc. 136 West Washington Ave Washington NJ. The visitation will be one hour prior to service on Tuesday. The interment will be in the Summerfield Cemetery, White Twp NJ.
