Obituary of George Snyder
George M. Snyder, 96 of Dingmans Ferry, PA formerly of Broadway passed away November 20th at Community Medical Center.
He was born in Tompkins Cove, New York on July 8, 1914. He was the son of the late Morris Snyder and Bertha Sequine Snyder.
He lived most of his life in Broadway, New Jersey. An avid sportsman, in high school, While in High School he received three letters for baseball, basketball, and football.
He worked at Edision Cement Company for 14 years, then Ingersoll-Rand in Easton, PA as a filter and welder. He became an estimator and retired in 1976.
George is predeased by his first wife, Ruth Allhouse and second wife, Ada Woolf Stanton Snyder. He is survived by three stepchildren, Arvilla Bodermer of Albrightsville, PA, Kenneth Stanton of Stroudsburg, PA, and Dale and Madeline Stanton of Dingmans Ferry, PA, Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, two nieces, JoAnn and Wayne of Maplewood, NJ and Corrine Goodwin of Broadway, NJ. Also he is predeased by a sister Mildred Foster and brother Willet.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Broadway Methodist Church of which George was a member of for 82 years.
Funeral services will be Thursday December 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave, Washington, New Jersey. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m.- 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday December 1, 2010. Interment will immediately follow the service at Stewarsville Presbyterian Cemetery, Stewarstsvile, New Jersey.
