Obituary of Fredra Jackson
Fredra Mary (nee-Williams) Jackson "Doll", 89, of Port Murray, NJ, past away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on June 15, 2014.
Born in Madison, NJ on December 9, 1924, she was the daughter of the late
Frederick A. and Mary Agnes (Brown) Williams. She was 1 of 12 children.
She was married to Harold W. Jackson Sr. who passed away in 1995. Fredra worked for many years as a Correctional Officer with the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility, Clinton, NJ retiring in 1990. She was a member of the Hillcrest Civic League, The NAACP, the Missionaries of Mt. Pisgah AME Church, the PBA and Delta Sigma Theta-Alpha ETA Chapter of Virginia State University.
Fredra is survived by her 2 sons, Harold Jr. and Charles, Sr., 2 daughters, Linda West, Gwendolyn Phillips and her husband, Jack Jones, 1 sister, Francis Ward, 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Harold Sr. in 1995 and devoted son, George in 2008.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 19 from 6-8 PM at the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave Washington, NJ 07882. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, June 20, 2014 at Faith Discovery Church, 33 Brass Castle Road, Washington, NJ. Following services burial will be at the Musconetcong Valley Cemetery, Hampton, NJ.
