Obituary of Paul Hill

Paul D. Hill, 65, a long-time resident of Port Murray, NJ passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Kindred Hospital in Easton, PA. Son of the late John Hill and Helen E. (Murden) Hill, Paul was born on December 3, 1946 in Hackensack, NJ. A 1964 graduate of Clifton High School, Clifton, NJ, Paul and his wife Nadie owned and operated Columbia Too Auto Wreckers, Port Murray for 44 years and were very active in the Mansfield Township community. Paul was a parishioner of St. Theodore's Roman Catholic Church, Port Murray. A member of the Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA) since 1968, Paul's passion was restoring classic cars, especially Cadillacs. A very artistic individual, Paul excelled at woodworking, painting and sculpting. He enjoyed listening to music of all genres and throughout his life had compiled an impressive collection of original recordings from the 50's and 60's. A devout Elvis Presley fan, the whole family enjoyed Paul's passion for the "the King." Paul enjoyed reading as well as watching a wide variety of sporting events, having attended many basketball games to support his favorite team, the New Jersey Nets. He also was an avid bowler and loved going to classic car shows. Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Nadie (Burzminski) Hill, Paul is also survived by two daughters, Debra Hill-Whipple of Nazareth, PA and Lisa (and husband Francis) Moyer of Port Murray, NJ, his five beloved grandchildren, Megan, Lindsay, and Jayme Whipple of Nazareth, PA, and Jillienne and Carly Moyer of Port Murray, NJ, his beloved cousin, Joan Guntsch of Punta Gorda, FL, Sister's-in-law, Helen Majka, and Stephanie (and husband John) Dykhouse , and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Michael and Nancy Burzminski, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. Paul was a devoted husband and father, a generous and kind-hearted neighbor and active member of the community who will be missed by all. Visitation will be Saturday, May 19, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the DeVoe Funeral Home, 136 West Washington Ave, Washington NJ 07882. A Memorial Mass will be held 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at St. Theodore's Roman Catholic Church located on Route 57 in Port Murray, NJ 07865. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to St. Theodore's Roman Catholic Church or to the American Diabetes Association. The DeVoe Funeral Service in Washington has been entrusted with his final arrangements.
