Obituary of Albert W. McKee II
Albert Wesley McKee II, 94, formerly of Belvidere, NJ, died in Milford, Delaware on February 22, 2019. He was born in Jersey City, NJ March 21, 1924, the son of the late Alexander Francois and Edna Louise Bird Eilersen McKee. He grew up in Norwood and Englewood, NJ, and graduated from Eastside Paterson High School. He attended Newark College of Engineering (NJIT) and Seton Hall University.
Albert was a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and worked for Metropolitan Life as an insurance agent for 25 years and afterward for the NJ Turnpike Authority before retiring. He served in the U.S. Navy, reaching the rank of Aviation Machinist Mate 2nd Class during WW2.
Albert was a long time resident of Leonia, NJ and a member of the Leonia American Legion. He enjoyed stamp collecting and genealogy. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Leonia for 40 years and of the First Presbyterian Church of Oxford at Hazen for 14 years.
His loving wife of 57 years, Doris Caroline Whittlesey McKee, preceded him in death in 2006.
Surviving Albert are his son Albert Wesley McKee III and his wife Adriana Baudry of Randolph NJ, sisters Laurel McKee Ranger and her husband Andrew of Randolph NJ, and Candace McKee and her companion Lew Silver of Dover Delaware; six grandchildren: Tavis (Ashley), Ian, and Derek (Kristen) Ranger, Samantha Berger (Don Palmer), and Eric and Russell McKee; as well as three great grandchildren: Charlotte, Mackenzie and Alexandra.
The visitation will be Tuesday February 26, 2019 from 6-8 PM and funeral services on Wednesday February 27, 2019 at 11AM in the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave Washington, NJ 07882. Interment to follow at the Union Cemetery, Hackettstown, NJ.
