Obituary of Barbara Emmons
Barbara June Kinnaman Emmons, died on February 20, 2010 at her home in Belvidere NJ (White Twp).She was born August 10, 1934 at Butler Park NJ. She graduated Washington High School, Washington NJ in 1952. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Myrtle Smith Kinnaman. Barbara was retired from North Atlantic Industries in Hackettstown where she did Data Entry.
Her husband Joseph Blaine Emmons Jr preceded her death in 2005. They were married for 50 years. Barbara lived 30 years in Oxford and was very active in the local Republican party , was on the town council for several years and was Mayor of Oxford NJ in 1985. She was a member of the Colonial United Methodist Church in Oxford NJ. She belonged to the Oxford Young at Heart Club.
Before moving to Belvidere, she split residence in Port St. Richie Florida and Clarksville Georgia . Barbara was an award winning painter. She belong to the art club and quilting group at Country View Estates. She traveled extensively and enjoy her trips to the area casinos.
She was preceded in death by her sister Lorraine Thompson in 2008. Surviving are her two daughters June Emmons Shindell of Phillipsburg NJ and April Emmons of Bethlehem Pa and a son Joseph Blanie Emmons lll of Milford NJ Also surviving her are 4 grandchildren John Erzak, Gary Nagy, Brandi Erzak , Joseph Shindell and a great granddaughter Savanna Christman.
