Obituary of Michael Grmek

Michael J. Grmek, 83, of Oxford, NJ died in the East Orange Veteran's Home in East Orange, NJ on July 9, 2014. Michael was born to Michael and Victoria (Munger) Grmek on September 29, 1930 in Newark, NJ. He served in the US Army in the Korean War. He obtained the rank of Sargent and was awarded several medals for service. Michael was a construction worker with the Local 472 in New Jersey. He was a faithful Catholic man. He participated in the Holy Name Parade. He is survived by his sons Gerald Grmek of Washington, NJ, Luke Grmek of Greensburg, Pa, and Michael Grmek of Bath, PA; his daughters Zondoa Leta Hafner of Bath, Pa, Denise Noti of Hackettstown, NJ and Victoria Argueta of Allentown, PA. He is also survived by his sisters, Barbara Galle of Hampton, NJ, Rose Henderson of Rahway, NJ, Joan Sonatore of Rahway, NJ, and Mildred Kelly of Florida. He is survived by 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Services will be private and at the convience of the family. The DeVoe Funeral Service has been entrusted with the arrangements.
