Obituary of Ella Miller

Ella Elizabeth Miller, 90, of Easton, PA, formerly of Washington, NJ died Wednesday, May 27, 2009 in Easton Hospital. She was born on July 25, 1918 in Washington, NJ, a daughter of the late Elmer H. and Ruth (Hendershot) Miller. Ella graduated from Washington High School in 1936. She was employed at the Washington Public Library and later worked as a secretary at Ingersoll-Rand in Phillipsburg, NJ. She retired in 1983 after 47 years of service. Ella was a member of the Soroptimist Club of Easton; a volunteer at Warren Hospital for 25 years, a volunteer at the Crayola Factory, and a volunteer at the First Presbyterian Church of Easton. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Easton and the United Methodist Church in Washington, NJ. Ella is survived by a sister, Madelon Dennis of Belvidere, NJ a brother, Harold Miller of Henryville, PA; 20 nieces and nephews, 32 great nieces and nephews, 19 great-great nieces and nephews, and 1 great great great niece. In addition to her parents, Ella is predeceased by her brothers Elmer, Francis, Joseph, Lewis, and Carl and a sister, Ruth Appleby, one niece and one great niece. Visitation will be held on Friday from 7:00 – 9:00 pm at DeVoe Funeral Service, Inc. 136 W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ. An additional viewing will be held on Saturday from 1:00 – 2:00 pm in the First Presbyterian Church of Easton, 333 Spring Garden St. Easton, PA 18042. A Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 pm in the church. Interment will follow in Musconetcong Valley Cemetery, Hampton, NJ.
