Obituary of Fred Miller

Fred J Miller Jr. devoted husband and father passed away on August 1, 2016. Fred, 88, was born in Newark, NJ to the late Frederick J. Miller Sr. and Florence (Kelly) Miller. He resided in and raised his family in Union, NJ before moving to Pittstown, NJ and then Galloway Township, NJ. Fred served in the US Army Signal Corp. Camp Holabird, MD where he met his cherished wife Margaret. Fred was employed as the Plumbing Subcode Official in Union, NJ and Construction Official in Franklin Twp., Somerset County, NJ until his retirement. He was also a part-time instructor for Plumber’s Local 24 and was past President of the NJ State Plumbing Inspector’s Association and served his community as a Special Police Officer for 25 years. Fred is survived by his wife, Margaret (Rebbert) Miller of Easton, PA, his son Frederick (Rick) Miller of Lopatcong, NJ, and two daughters Veronica Catrombon of Naples, FL and Diane Glover of Bailey, CO. He is also survived by his sister Marilyn Gorski of Piscataway, NJ, four grandchildren Frederick, Jeannette, Ute, and Udo, and eight great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at DeVoe Funeral Services, 136 W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882 on Friday August 5, 2016 from 2-4 PM and from 7-9 PM.
