Obituary of Elizabeth Stecker

Elizabeth Stecker, 86, of Washington, NJ passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. Elizabeth was born on March 17, 1926 in Washington, New Jersey. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James H. and Ann ( nee Bush) Bolmer. Elizabeth was a 1944 graduate of Washington High School, Washington, NJ. She worked in the cafeteria at the Taylor Street Elementary School, Washington, NJ. Elizabeth had many previous jobs which entailed working as a telephone operator, a cashier at One-Stop, Pip's Tavern, G.C. Murphy's, Pohatcong Hosery, Elca Hemming, Vikon Tile, Porcelin, and Washington Woodcraft. She was a lifetime resident of Washington, NJ. She loved lighthouses, bingo, bunnies and reading. She enjoyed crocheting and doing crossword puzzles. Elizabeth loved visiting Cape Code and Point Pleasant. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Frederick LaRue Stecker, Sr. She is survived by three sons, Frederick LaRue Stecker, Jr. and wife Edith of Washington, NJ, Roger Stecker, Sr. and wife Lois of Phillipsburg, NJ, and Daniel Stecker, Sr. of Washington, NJ, one daughter, Penny Deemer of Washington, NJ, two brothers, Walter Bolmer of Easton, PA, and Leroy Bolmer of Catasauqua, PA, two sisters, Nancy Fehr of Hopatcong, NJ, Judy Jones of Washington, NJ, eleven grandchildren, Frederick, III., Patricia, Roger, Jr., Lisa, Mellissa, Daniel, Jr., Michelle, Ryan, Emily, Howard, Jr., and Storm and fifteen great-grandchildren, Christopher, April, Shane, Derek, Brandon, Ava, Elizabeth (Betty), Douglas, Gabriel, Abigail, Alexandria, Daniel, III, Ethan, Aaron, and Regina A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the DeVoe Funeral Service, Inc., 136 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. A service will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. A burial will follow in Musconetocng Valley Cemetery, Hampton, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
