Obituary of Donald Black

Don E. Black, 87, died Monday, December 29, 2008 in the Care Center of Lopatcong, Lopatcong Township, NJ. Don was born June 19, 1921 in Clearfield, PA, a son of the late Robert Aldo and the late Bessie (Tubbs) Black. He proudly served during World War II in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1946. He was a Truck Driver, employed by Brockway Trucking, Denville, NJ. Survivors: Don is survived by his wife Senora (Shotwell) Black; one daughter, Lillian Syfor of Phillipsburg, NJ; a sister, Velma Burns of New Village, NJ; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents a brother Melvin Black died earlier. Services: Friends may call on the family Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 am at DeVoe Funeral Service, Inc., 136 W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ. A funeral service will be held at 11AM in the funeral home. Interment follow the funeral service in Stewartsville Presbyterian Cemetery, Stewartsville.
