Obituary of Susan Scheer
Susan Scheer, 93 of Oxford NJ went home to the Lord Saturday October 2, 2010 from Warren Haven , Mansfield Twp NJ. She was born November. 10, 1916 in Newark N.J. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth Babyak Kochis. She was married to Harold R. Scheer who passed away April 26, 1992. They were married June 22, 1941 in the Oxford Methodist Church. They enjoyed a long happy married life of 50 years.
She was employed at the Hosery Mill in Washington as a Seamer. She worked at Consumers Research in Washington in the mailing room. She retired from there in 1982 when they closed down. She was a lunch monator at both Taylor and Memorial School. Susan started teaching Sunday School in Colonial United Methodist Church in Oxford and continued in the Enited Methodist Church in Washington NJ. She taught for over 50 years. She was a member Womans Club. She loved her family dearly especially the babies as they came along. Children were her life-be it in her family or Sunday School. She loved teaching the Stories of the Bible.
She is survived by her daughter June Wandling and her husband William of Crossville Tennessee (formerly of Washington NJ), a son Warren H. and wife Kathleen of Kresgeville Pa, 4 grandchildren, Michael Wandling of Greenwood South Carolina, Kristin Wandling Beam and husband Scott of Washington NJ, Douglas Scheer and his wife Michele of Bangor Pa, and Lindsey Scheer of Phillipsburg NJ, 5 Great Grandchildren, Krista, Kayleigh, Corey, Tyler, Iam, 3 Great Great Grandchildren, Raleb, Jadeen and Carly, a brother George Kochis and his wife Florence of Nazareth PA and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.
She was predeceased by 5 sisters, Marie Remick, Anna Riffo, Elizabeth Kochis, Margaret Duryea, Rose Pickell and two brothers Michael and John Kochis.
Visitation will be on Wednesday October 6, 2010 from 7-9 PM in the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave Washington NJ. Funeral Services will be Thursday October 7, 2010 at 11am in the United Methodist Church 105 East Washington Ave, Washington NJ 07882. Interment in the Hazen Cemetery White Twp. NJ.
