Obituary of Warren Dean

Warren Julius Dean, 87, formerly of Washington, passed away peacefully Friday, March 13, 2009 in the Warren Haven Nursing Home, Oxford, NJ. Warren was born May 17, 1921 in Washington, NJ, a son of the late Arthur B and the late Ruth (Castner) Dean. He proudly served during World WarII war in the Army from 1940 to 1945. He was involved in the African European Theatre. He had worked for Washington Porcelain Co., Port Murray Brick Yard and Ethel VisQueen Plastic in Flemington. His last employment was as a Packer, with M&M Mars Company, Hackettstown. Warren loved animals especially cats and dogs. While at Warren Haven he enjoyed feeding the local birds. He also enjoyed photography. Warren was a member of the Foot Locker Veterans Club in Warren Haven. He was a past member of United Methodist Church Of Washington, Washington, NJ. Survivors:Warren is survived by one son, Warren J. Dean, Jr. and his wife Michelle of E. Stroudsburg, PA; a granddaughter, Jana Kintz and her husband CJ of Stroudsburg, PA; a grandson, Seth Dean and his wife Heather of Stroudsburg, PA; six great grandchildren, Zaccahry, Emma, Robbie, Stephanie, Jacob and Kenneth and his longtime friend, Lyndell Brinson. In addition to his parents his brother, Arthur Dean and sister Ruth Hoffman died earlier. Services: A private memorial will be held at the family's convenience. While my mother was a resident at Warren Haven on many of my visits there I would see your father sitting outside enjoying the nice weather and he always had on his military vest with all of his "patches and pins of honor". I remember thinking I wonder who this pleasant man is that always speaks to me when I am coming in the door. Finally I did ask one of the aides who he was and from that time on I always made sure that I would speak to him when I was there. He was such a nice person to people that he did not know, and always said hello when we would approach the door to enter into Warren Haven.
