Obituary of Lois Parke
Lois E.Parke, age 89, of Port Murray NJ died August 3, 2010 at Abington Manor. Lois was born on August 1, 1921 in Port Murray, NJ, a daughter of the late Vassar and Mildred (Mayberry) Perry. She was the wife of the late Charles J. Parke.
Lois lived in Lake Wales Florida for 18 years before returning to Port Murray to live with her son Andrew and daughter-in-law for the last seven years. Lois was a school bus driver for many years and a local rural postal carrier in Port Murray. She served as a U.S. Army volunteer during World War II in Detroit, Michigan. Lois loved painting, rock collecting and bird watching. She was an avid gardener and crafter and enjoyed traveling in her camper.
She is survived by her two sons Andrew and wife Linda Parke of Port Murray, NJ and Dennis and wife Anne Parke of Seattle, WA.; her two daughters, Marcia and husband James Long of San Diego,CA and daughter Marilyn and husband John Diller of Oakland, MD. She had 10 grandchildren and three great granddaughters.
Lois was sister of the late Fred, Blanchard, and Paul Perry.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from from 2:00 â 3:00 pm with a memorial service at 3:00 pm at the DeVoe Funeral Service, 136 W.Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882.
