I remember spending and entire night in the garage with Bear rebuilding a Mikuni carb on my sportster trying to figure out why it wouldnt run right. We took it off and completely disassemlbled and re assembled it 4 time before we realize that because the front end was so long on the bike it caused the geometry of the carb to sit wrong and the float wouldnt seat right. A simple twist of the carb (old kunis mounted in a peice of rad hose)about 15 degrees towardds the front and sh ran like a top. We laughed so hard it hurt because it just didnt look right. Once I noticed the sun coming up we decide on breakfast, out of the garage into the Willys and off the the Washington diner laughing and carrying on about one of the simplest yet most time consuming goofs either one fo us had ever pulled.
