Obituary of Daniel Rudy
Daniel J. Rudy, 85, of Yuma, Arizona passed away on April 14, 2016.
Daniel was born on January 5, 1931 in Oxford, NJ to John and Helen (Bernaski) Rudy. He graduated from Washington High School and went on to become a carpenter in Local 455. He served our country in the US Army during the Korean War. He married Joan Shoemaker who passed away in 1997.
Daniel was a former Town Councilman in the 1970's and an active member of Saint Rose of Lima Church in Oxford, NJ, where he served as an usher for many years. He loved fishing, hunting, and playing the accordion. He was a member of the "Nutty Nuggets" gold mining team in Arizona. He enjoyed researching natural medicine and spending time with his family and dog Suzy.
Daniel is survived by a companion of many years Veronica Reyes; two sons: Daniel J. Rudy Jr. and his wife Linda of Belvidere, NJ, Douglas Rudy of Lake Ariel, PA, and a daughter Darla Antonis and her husband Mark of Nazareth, PA. He is also survived by his sister Virginia Klimko and her husband John of Oxford, NJ , nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at DeVoe Funeral Services, 136 W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882 on Sunday April 24, 2016 from 6-8pm. Anyone wishing to do so may meet at the funeral at 8:30am on Monday April 25, 2016 and proceed to the funeral service which will be held on Monday at 9:30am at St. Rose of Lima Church in Oxford, NJ.
