I remember spending many summers at Meme and Pappys house. Pappy and myself would be in the back yard doing one project or another. Pappy always had a project. Being just a little kid, i most likely wasn't very much help. But Pappy didn't mind. He would always have a "big and important" job for me to do. Looking back I can only imagine how much more work i created for him. In the evenings we would do the same thing. He would pack me in the car and we would drive into town, to go to Doc's place. This was a general store in town. He would usually get a bag of chips and a root beet. I would get a pepsi and a bag of combos. Then back to home to get dinner that Meme had made for her hungry men. After dinner Pappy and myself would go and watch TV on the couch. I almost always fell asleep in his lap. Meme would then pick me up and carry me to bed with her.
I could go on and on and on. We did so much together. I will miss you more than you will ever know, Pappy. Thank you for all of the wonderful memories, both as a child and an adult. I will truly cherish them. You've made me part of the man I am today. I promise you that my children, and their children, will know who you and Meme were. They will know what wonderful and caring people you two were. And, I will teach them the morals and values that you and Meme have taught me. I love you, Pappy.

Ron and Uncle Harold's grandchildren,
Tonight I am filled with memories of growing up just three houses away
from Uncle Harold and Aunt Mart. I remember spending many hours at their home (when Ron and Elaine were very small), making fudge, trying our hand at making taffy, feeling 'free to be' and knowing we were very loved at home and at that house down the street. Uncle Harold, you will be missed.
I love you.
