Obituary of Marie Snover

Marie Pauline Snover (DeVries) 81 years old of Bethlehem, PA formerly of Washington, NJ passed away October 5, 2014 at St. Luke's, Hospital in Bethlehem, PA., after suffering a stroke at home. Marie went home to be with the Lord exactly one year to the day after her husband Kenneth Snover, Sr. Marie was a graduate of Washington High School. She, was a past president of the Washington Women's Club, Past President of Washington Elementary School PTA, a Board Member of the Central Warren Youth Association, Washington Emergency Squad Auxiliary, Girl Scout Troop Leader and various other community organizations. She joined and supported her husband Ken in his dedication to those in need in Warren County. She was always involved in the Christmas toy program and giving to those in need in the community. Born in Washington NJ, March 1, 1933, Marie was the daughter of the late Gaddis H. DeVries and the late Helen Lacey DeVries. She is survived by her daughter, Valerie Godshalk, Grandson Ryan Porter and his wife Lorree, great granddaughters Kendall and Carly all of Bethlehem. Also her son Kenny and his wife Heather and grandson Josh all of Hixson, TN. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Ken, grandson Kaleb, sisters, Betty Snyder, Ila Suydam, Sadie Major and brothers John and Wilbur DeVries. A memorial service will be held on October 18 at 10:00am, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church Rte 31 North in Washington, NJ The DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave Washington NJ 07882 has been entrusted with her arrangements Contributions can be made for funeral expenses to the family in care of DeVoe Funeral home.
