Obituary of Barbara Pels

Barbara Lillian Pels, age 92, of, Franklin Twp NJ died Sunday, January 17, 2010 in Washington. Mrs. Pels was born March 19, 1917 in Oxford, NJ. She is the daughter of the late James and the late Mary Agnes (King) Dee. A homemaker most of her latter life, She had been employed in her younger years as an assembler in the former Porcelain Plant in Washington and had waitressed in the former Homer Arena Pharmacy. She was a member and former past President of the New Village P.T.A., a member of Warren Grange # 10 and a past 4H sewing leader. Barbara was a member of St Josephs Catholic Church in Washington where she belonged to the Alter Rosary Society. Her husband Joseph preceded her in death in 1995 She is survived by two daughters: Maureen Heritage of Bloomsbury, NJ, Sharon Brown of Interlockin Fl. and one son: James Pels of Opheim, MT 14 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her companion Franklin Beaty of Washington NJ. Mrs. Pels was also predeceased by two sisters Winifred Howell and Gertrude Simard, 1 grandchild and 1 great grandchild. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Monday, January 25 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 West Carlton Ave, Washington, NJ. Burial will be in St Rose Of Lima Catholic Cemetery, Oxford on Monday, January 25 at 11:00 am. Calling hours will be Sunday, January 24 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at DeVoe Funeral Service Inc., 136 West Washington Ave, Washington, NJ.
