Obituary of Eleanor McHugh

Eleanor "Lee" McHugh 90 formerly of Washington NJ, died Tuesday April 20th at St Martha Manor in Downingtown PA. She was born September 21, 1919 in New York. She was the daughter of the late John and Mary Dempsey Kelly. She had been employed as a teacher at the Brass Castle School in Washington NJ. She was also an office worker at High Point Sanitation. She has been a resident of St Martha's for the past 8 years coming from Washington NJ. Before living in Washington she resided in New York. She was a member of St Joseph's Catholic Church in Washington. Eleanor had been active in the Altar Rosary Society as well as the Choir. Her husband Charles "Howard" McHugh preceded her in death in 2001. She is survived by a son Kevin and his wife Christine of Columbia NJ, 3 daughters Constance McHugh of Downingtown PA. Janice Thomas and her husband William of Glenmore PA, and Loren Ackerman and her husband James of Hackettstown NJ, 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 3 sisters Grace Olwell, Dorothy Mathews and Madeline Curren all preceded her in death. Visitation will be Friday April 23 from 9:30-10:30am in the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave, Washington NJ followed by a Funeral Mass at 11AM in St Joseph Catholic Church 200 West Carlton Ave, Washington NJ. Burial will be in the parish cemetery following the Mass.
