Obituary of Mabel Vazquez

Mabel P.Vazquez 99 of Hackettstown NJ, died at her home on Sunday June 8, 2014. Mabel was born on April 1, 1915 in Oneonta, New York to the late Michael and Stephanie (Colucci) Fucci. She was a 1935 graduate of Washington High School. She was a Capper for American Can Company in Washington NJ until she retired in 1980. She loved gardening and riding her lawn mower. She was fiercely independent even snowblowing her own driveway until January 2014. Mabel is survived by her daughters Anita Tillman of Farmingdale, NJ and Janet Verrill of Long Valley, NJ; a brother Michael Fucci of Germantown TN; a sister Lena Stauffer of Washington, NJ. She is also survived by a granddaughter Sharai Jost and five great grandchildren, Melonie, Cameron, Emily, Morgan, and Madeline. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Vasquez in 1966. Also by her brothers Antonio, Nicholas, Georg, August, Clement "Lundy" and sisters Lucy Bernardesca and Stephanie Fucci. Viewing will be held at DeVoe Funeral Service 136 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ on Thursday June 12, 2014 from 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on June 13, 2014 at…… in Our Lady of The Mountain Roman Catholic Church 2 East Springtown Road Long Valley, NJ 07853.
