Obituary of Rita Lee Schmidt

Rita Lee Schmidt 69 of Phillipsburg NJ died on Saturday June 15th in the Hackensack Medical Center.

She was born in Detroit MI. January 17, 1950. She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Ann Nowinski.

Rita was the former Postmaster for the US Postal Service in Brookside NJ

She proudly served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. Upon her discharge she was a sergeant.

She received her Associates Degree from the Somerset Community College. 

Rita was very proud of her military and years at the post office. She was of Catholic faith.

She is survived by her husband Eric Schmidt, a son Eric Jr, daughters Keri Schmidt and Anne Schmidt and a granddaughter Abigail Schmidt all of Phillipsburg NJ

Rita was predeceased by her two sisters; Joyce Mutch and Carol Reynolds.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life on Friday June 21, 2019 from 6-8 in the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave, Washington NJ 07882. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, June 22, 2019  at 11AM in the funeral home. The Burial will be private at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, N
