We Pohl's grew up with the Jessamine's in a "back-in-the-day" tough neighborhood in Oxford. None of us had an easy life--but--we had STRONG friendships. Although I didn't keep in touch too much with Butch in adulthood, I would see him from time to time and he always let me know I was his forever friend. For example, in the last decade or so as his eyesight was failing, he would recognize my voice and say "is that you Pohlie ?" even if I hadn't talked to him in months. He was a kind hearted kid, as an adult too and never forgot his friends. I added a picture that brought me back to our neighborhood days in the 50's & 60's. In the back l-r is Tom Harrison, George Shoemaker and Bob Connolly. Butch and his brother Paul are in front of them. Gonna miss this OXFORD LEGEND !!!!
