Obituary of Carol Evelyn Hassemer

Carol Evelyn Hassemer passed away on July 6, 2020 with her daughter Mary by her side.  She turned 86 years old on Christmas Day.  

She was born in Belvidere, NJ on Dec. 25, 1933 and was a longtime resident of NJ.  Living in Oxford as a child before moving to Washington.  She was a graduate of Washington High School and then went on to become a nurse.   She practiced private care nursing until she retired.  

She and her late husband, Frank were members of the First Baptist Church in Washington, NJ.  She led a women’s bible study for many years and enjoyed singing in the choir.   After moving to Bath, Pennsylvania they joined the United Methodist Church of Chapmans Quarries.   They enjoyed traveling and cruising. 

In recent years she resided with her daughter, Mary in Loris SC.   She enjoyed snuggling with her Dalmatian furbabies, Camille, Abby and Sandie.  

She was always kind and sweet and had a dry sense of humor which often caught friends and family off guard.  

She is survived by her daughter Mary Taub, wife of Richard L. Hall from Loris SC. Granddaughter Ami Kendra, wife of Michael from Martinsburg WV, Grandson Benjamin Coveleskie currently residing in Houston TX and 3 Great Grandsons Adam, Nathan and Lincoln Kendra.  

She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. 

She is predeceased by her loving husband Frank L Hassemer,   her mother Nellie Metz Oliver, her father Joseph Oliver and brother Joseph W. Oliver. 

Cremation was handled by Goldfinch Funeral home in Loris, SC.   She and her husband will be buried together in the Stewartsville Lutheran Cemetery at a future date to be handled by the Knoll-Devoe Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Washington, NJ.
