Obituary of Carol A. Anema

Carol A. Anema, age 84, of Hellertown, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 25, 2021 at her daughter, Bren's, home where she lived since 2015.  She was born April 25, 1937 in Washington, NJ.  Carol was the daughter of the late Harrison and Beryl (Castner) Shive.  She was the wife of the late Ralph Anema, with whom she shared 39 years of marriage.

Carol worked as the owner and operator of Ralph's King Size Motel, retiring in 2000.  She enjoyed reading, puzzling, and country music.  She belonged to the Lions Club, 540 Democratic Association, the Rosemont Fire Company located in Bethlehem, PA, as well as the North End Wanderers Athletic Association in Bethlehem, PA.  Carol was of the Methodist faith.

Carol is survived by her three daughters, Beverly Everitt and her husband Terry of Washington, NJ, Kimberly Wiegand and her husband John of New Hampton, NY, and Bren Anema of Hellertown, PA; son, Ralph Anema and his wife Dianna of Washington, NJ; 10 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Carol is predeceased by her parents, Harrison and Beryl Shive; brother, Ellis Shive; and grandson, Jonathan Walsh.

Following Carol's wishes, a graveside service, with a butterfly release, will be held on Wednesday June 30, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Washington Cemetery, 14 Cemetery Hill Road, Washington NJ.
